This kit on a Carabiner is perfect for times when the locksmith or property manager, or law enforcement professional needs a bump key to get that lock open because the original key is missing. With this little kit, you can get that locked cylinder rotated and open faster, and without sore fingers. Everything you need for bumping a lock is in the kit and carried right there (w/exception of bumping tool) on a small carabiner (approx. 2" X 1/14" ).
Finger Saver: The ZippLocks.com Key Bump Finger Saver allows the locksmith to keep fingers out of the way of the ‘bump’ when opening a lock. Inserted into the head of the key the finger saver allows rotating leverage to turn the key during the bump process with sensitive fingers out of the way. Pain, cursing, throbbing thumbs, numb fingers, and bruising are not necessary when you use the ZippyLocks.com Key Bump Finger Saver. Once you use one, you’ll wonder why you didn’t get them sooner. Give those fingers a break (break may not be the word to use here) – you need them to do your job! (NOTE: Be careful - it is possible to put enough torque on the key to break it with this little tool. And, that just makes the job harder.) (may be purchased separately here ---> https://www.zippylocks.com/products/key-bump-finger-saver )
Key Bump Accelerators (Bump Rings): These tough little rings are just right to slip over the blade of the key. They provided plenty of bounce to move the key back into position for the next bump. And, they can be reused until they fall apart (results vary). (may be purchased separately here ---> https://www.zippylocks.com/products/bump-key-rings-20-total )
Bump Keys: These are the most common residential keys and are often used in commercial settings as well. The set includes two keys, cut to manufacturers' deep cut depth and spacing. They include 1 each SC1 (cut for 5 pin spacing at depth 9) and KW1 (cut for 5 pin spacing at depth 6).
Mallet - Bump Hammer: 6 oz. mallet, or bump hammer, to 'bump' the key. The item has a hard plastic side and a softer rubber side to allow options when bumping. Note: make sure you "bump" the key in a straight line into the lock. Oblique or glancing force from the mallet may damage the lock or bend/break the key.
Practice and honing of technic is the responsibility of the individual. So, results may vary depending on locks, locksmith technic, and lock conditions.
